Group Training

Do you have a group of individuals ready to form an effective team? Or a group of leaders ready to advance to the next level? Dr. Stadnyk has taught groups of physicians, NP’s, and PA’s how to transform themselves into dynamic leaders; over 330 physicians and providers in total.

We recommend that cohorts include at least 15 participants but no more than 35. The small teacher-to-student ratio ensures that each participant benefits from individual attention. Small-group breakout sessions allow the experiences of the participants to become vital teaching material that keeps the learning relevant. Large-group debriefs guarantee that no lessons are missed by anyone.

The process is highly interactive, allowing participants to try out and test their new skills immediately. Simulation and role play are critical elements of Dr. Stadnyk’s teaching methods. He has found that simulation generates real life emotions, thus more deeply embedding the learning. It is as close as one can get to reality and accelerates the learning process.

The course can be customized to meet schedule demands of participants and the organizational needs. Topics most asked for include:

  • Identifying your leadership strengths and weaknesses

  • Identifying your unique leadership style and how it impacts others

  • How to give and receive feedback

  • Conflict/resolution

  • Managing disruptive physician behaviors

  • Dealing with change management in healthcare

  • The Neuroscience of Leadership (and behavior)

  • Understanding the ego, how it can help us out or hurt us

  • Communication effectiveness

  • Finance basics with simulation exercises

  • Team performance with simulation exercises

A course syllabus is provided for each participant, something that often becomes a valuable reference for future use. In the past, some healthcare systems have used the leadership training sessions to identify a few highly talented participants that may benefit from individual 1:1 coaching at the conclusion of the leadership training.

“My “Aha” moment through leadership coaching with Sheldon is this: Don’t assume you have the right to wield influence and power. Leadership is a privilege. Set goals to listen deeply, carefully prepare to lead like you would approach training for a subspecialty, work to earn trust from the people you lead, and aspire to win together.”
